The Lofty Pass and Jackson Hole, Wyoming

Beyond the lofty pass and
amidst the shifting clouds
the valley waited quietly.

It was my favorite destination.

As I climbed the perilous heights,
I tried to avoid looking aside.
The steep shoulder promised
certain death for one misstep.

The beauty that I found in the valley
was well worth the frightening risk.
